What does Verified mean on Big Day Guide?
The Verified badge is an editorial trust signal. It tells couples that the Big Day Guide team has carried out additional checks on a supplier before granting the status.
What Verified means
A supplier with the Verified badge has been reviewed by the Big Day Guide editorial team. Our review may include one or more of the following:
- ·Confirmation that the business is actively trading
- ·Verification of contact details and website
- ·A phone or video call with a representative
- ·Review of supporting documentation supplied by the business
What Verified does not mean
The Verified badge is not a review score, a quality rating, or an endorsement of any supplier's services. It is a trust signal only — it means we have confirmed certain details about the business, not that we guarantee their service or recommend them over unlisted suppliers.
Verification does not imply that Big Day Guide has visited the venue, tasted the food, reviewed the photography, or assessed any other aspect of the supplier's actual services.
How verification works
Verification is granted and managed by the Big Day Guide team. It is a paid listing tier — suppliers who wish to be considered for Verified status should get in touch with us directly. Verification may be time-limited and is subject to renewal.
If a supplier's verification lapses or is revoked, the badge is automatically removed. The supplier listing remains in the directory — only the Verified badge disappears.
Separate from Featured and Sponsored
Big Day Guide operates three distinct listing tiers: Featured, Sponsored, and Verified. These are always independent. A supplier may hold any combination of these statuses — or none at all.
- Featured— paid placement that surfaces a supplier prominently in search results
- Sponsored— paid slot at the top of a category or location page
- Verified— editorial trust badge following a manual review process
How to apply
If you are a supplier listed on Big Day Guide and would like to be considered for Verified status, please get in touch. We review applications on a rolling basis.

Suppliers must first find their listing in the directory and use the “Claim this listing” link on the supplier profile page before applying for Verified status.
